California has seen better days. Thanks to the radical policies of its Democratic leadership, millions of residents are suffering.
Blackouts, wildfires, and abusive lockdowns are what locals can look forward to each day. So, it comes as no surprise that many Californians are leaving for greener pastures. (Including high profile celebrities like podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan.)
Now two major companies are heading out, along with thousands of jobs. From the Seattle Times:
Billionaire tech mogul Musk’s high-profile relocation is the latest of more than 687,000 Californians who’ve made the move to the Lone Star State over the last decade, according to an analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data from 2010-2019.
Then tech giant Oracle Corp. joined the migration, saying Friday it will move its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas, and let many employees choose their office locations and decide whether to work from home.
Elon Musk revealed that he moved to Texas and is moving his business operations out of California as well. Oracle is also making a big move to Austin, Texas.
That comes after over 687,000 CA residents left for Texas. And that doesn’t include the many others who moved to other states.
Texas is a common destination for those fleeing the People’s Republican of California for many reasons. The conservative leadership of Texas has created a pro-business, pro-jobs environment.
Low taxes and lots of business opportunities have attracted workers, business owners, and investors.
But locals are worried that all these West Coast transplants will carry liberal politics with them.
It’s possible, seems pretty dumb. It was those very politics that tanked California in the first place. Who in their right might would want that to happen in TX?
Some would, but we also have to consider that many of those fleeing CA are conservatives who are sick of CA’s toxic politics.
But the bottom line is, if Texas wants to stay red, they’ll have to fight for it. And educate the newcomers as to why they prefer freedom over socialism.
